Pros and cons of Bothell after 13 years

Curious what people think. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $871,300 on average. Household incomes average around $132,232 in Bothell. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not very walkable
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Am I overthinking this? Thanks! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Used to live on the East side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Riverside for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The food scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
