Anyone else love living in Bound Brook?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Bound Brook sits at 156.0 per 100K. Median household income is $80,876, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 12,023, Bound Brook is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 56, moved here 11 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Downtown and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The cultural scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for young professionals. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Fairview area are decent. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor recreation is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I work in engineering here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Definitely worth checking out..
