Should I move to Boyd or stay in Kansas City?

OK so I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $66,944 in Boyd. Homes are going for about $230,700 on average. Poverty rate is 8.8%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
