Is Boynton Beach a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Boynton Beach because of the outdoor activities. The weather is great — warm most of the year with an average of 76F.

Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Highland Park and Southside are perfectly safe.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 10 years and my experience is very similar.

Coming from LA, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

I work in manufacturing and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 6 months.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

If you can afford it, Westside is the best place to live. Period.
