Planning a move to Boynton Beach -neighborhoods?

Random thought, Military spouse here. With a population of 80,601, Boynton Beach is a smaller city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Would love some local perspective. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Came here for school and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The school system is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Portland it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Portland about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..
