Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $461 for rent here. Homes are going for about $108,900 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Eastside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The weather scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
