Commute times in Braidwood -how bad?

Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,089 for rent here. With a population of 6,175, Braidwood is a small town. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cultural scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
