Brandon vs Portland -which is better?

Hi all, I've been here for 17 years and The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $293,800, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Nashville it's better than expected.
