Hi all, I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,691 for rent here. It's a a mid-size city city with about 116K people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
