I'm single, late 50s, and Poverty rate is 9.5%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $77,068, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 116K, Brandon is a mid-size city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Cedar Grove for 8 years. Moved from Atlanta for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited entertainment options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
