Cheapest neighborhoods in Brawley?

Hi all, Born and raised here. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,934 people. Poverty rate is 18.3%, which is higher than I expected. Median household income is $60,370, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Lots of new development
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 12 years. Moved from Phoenix for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Homeless population growing downtown. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
