Best and worst neighborhoods in Brea

I'm originally from Seattle and Rent is about $2,285/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $874,300, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 47,337 people. Median household income is $124,837, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely underrated and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Westside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The safety is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
