Is Brea worth it salary-wise?

Hey folks, Household incomes average around $124,837 in Brea. The median home value here is around $874,300, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I work in marketing here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is improving. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Tampa it's solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in The Heights for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The housing market scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
