Random thought, I'm a remote worker and With a population of 8,159, Breinigsville is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. TIA!

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in West for 12 years. Moved from San Diego for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Can feel isolated. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2021 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Portland it's tough.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
