Best neighborhoods in Bremerton

Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,535/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in Old Town for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
