Is Bremerton worth moving to in 2026?

So, Crime rate is something to consider -Bremerton sits at 403.1 per 100K. Homes are going for about $409,500 on average. Household incomes average around $74,399 in Bremerton. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I've lived in Uptown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely solid and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Riverside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Springfield area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is solid in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
