Is public transit usable in Bremerton?

Hello, I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 44,531, Bremerton is a smaller city. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
