Best hidden gems in Brentwood

Hey everyone, I'm a 23-year-old lawyer and Household incomes average around $139,567 in Brentwood. You can expect to pay around $2,509 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Brentwood? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Diego about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 3 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in North for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The nightlife scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
