What to expect moving to Brentwood?

Hi all, Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 64,609 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Phoenix about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.
