Hey folks, Household incomes average around $60,432 in Brentwood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in South for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The community vibe scene is improving
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
