Best coffee shops in Brentwood?

Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $184,720, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The weather is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Downtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely underrated and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Eastside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Highland for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
