Brentwood is underrated, change my mind

Alright, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $184,720, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 45,272 people. Rent is about $2,497/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Eastside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The dating scene scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- The dating scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.
