Working remotely from Brentwood

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 14 months ago and Homes are going for about $926,700 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 45,272 people. With a population of 45,272, Brentwood is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 11 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely better than expected and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Uptown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Uptown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is solid in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
