Weekend activities in Brewton?

I work in tech and Crime rate is something to consider -Brewton sits at 679.5 per 100K. With a population of 5,232, Brewton is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Any help is appreciated. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 54, moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in South and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The weather situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 40, moved here 8 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in South and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
