Biggest downsides of living in Bridgeport?

Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and It's a a mid-size city city with about 148K people. You can expect to pay around $1,405 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.
