Hello, Household incomes average around $112,482 in Bridgewater Town. Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 28,669, Bridgewater Town is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Boston about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The community vibe is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 3 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

I've lived in South for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The healthcare scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to San Francisco it's solid.
