What I wish I knew before living in Bridgewater Town

Random thought, Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $112,482 in Bridgewater Town. Rent is about $1,976/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,669 people. You can expect to pay around $1,976 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Far from major airports
- Homelessness issues downtown
The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Downtown area are solid. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
