Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 19,796 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Nashville about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.
