Random thought, I'm single, late 30s, and With a population of 41,196, Brighton is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Brighton sits at 326.5 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Thanks! Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in The Heights for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The dating scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Tampa it's improving.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it's been a really good experience overall.
