Starting a business in Brighton?

Hey folks, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? TIA! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Houston about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.
