Best and worst neighborhoods in Bristol

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 61,129, Bristol is a smaller city. Am I wrong here?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Charlotte about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The pet-friendliness is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
