Best apartments in Bristol under ?

Hey folks, I'm originally from Cincinnati and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,490 people. Poverty rate is 10.1%, which is around average. Median household income is $55,007, which feels about average for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Diverse community
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Chain restaurants dominate
What are your go-to spots? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much affordable but now it's challenging.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 40, moved here 12 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The food scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for families. tough vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The school system is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Houston about 15 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (North) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
