The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The school system is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
