Longtime lurker here, Household incomes average around $99,431 in Broadview Heights. With a population of 19,768, Broadview Heights is a small town. Rent is about $1,075/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Fairview for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is decent
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Eastside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- The community vibe scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a teacher, 48, moved here 15 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Greenfield and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Affordable housing options
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Can feel isolated
3. The nightlife situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for families. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much affordable but now it's decent.
