I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 7 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..
