From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Moved here from Seattle about 8 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to public transit but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
