Hey everyone, I work in education and The median home value here is around $405,500, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $405,500 on average. Rent is about $1,545/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The public transit scene is average
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Pine Hills area are tough. Kids love it here.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The community vibe is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Westside area are improving. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
