OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts.

I've lived in Downtown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The traffic scene is average
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
