Rent vs buy in Brockton -what makes sense?

I'm a college student here and It's a a mid-size city city with about 105K people. Homes are going for about $405,500 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots? Thanks for reading. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The healthcare scene is average

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The weather is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
