Hello, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 5.6%, which is about average. With a population of 105K, Brockton is a mid-size city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much stable but now it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Austin about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a project manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.
