How much do you pay for rent in Broken Arrow?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Broken Arrow sits at 124.9 per 100K. Median household income is $85,220, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- The safety scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
