Is Broken Arrow a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Broken Arrow because of lower cost of living. Weather is moderate — about 63F average.

Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

Coming from Chicago, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

For families, I'd recommend looking at Westside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Don't sleep on Downtown. It's up and coming and still affordable.

I've lived in Old Town for 13 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Check out the Highland Park area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

As someone who moved here from Philadelphia, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.
