Alright, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,698/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Brookdale sits at 216.7 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
