Things Brookdale needs to improve

The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,698 for rent here. The median home value here is around $527,200, which is pretty steep. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'm a chef and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..
