Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I work in healthcare here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is better than expected. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
