We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in East area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in finance. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The nightlife is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
