Moving from Sacramento to Brookfield next month

Anyone else feel this way? Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. With a population of 41,592, Brookfield is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $419,300 on average. The median home value here is around $419,300, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
