Median household income is $140,631, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 62,822, Brookline is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a project manager and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

I'm a project manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Came here for work and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
