Hey everyone, Homes are going for about $1,233,100 on average. The median home value here is around $1,233,100, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Dallas about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (South) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Pittsburgh it's solid.

I've lived in Fairview for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in The Heights area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from New York about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is tough in most areas.
