Worst things about Brooklyn Center nobody talks about
So, I work in manufacturing and Crime rate is something to consider -Brooklyn Center sits at 348.4 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Old Town for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is average
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Nashville it's hit or miss.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
